Goodbye from Yarn Garden

Linda Carter 1943-2008. Wonder woman of knitting & founder of Yarn Garden.

After fourteen and one half fabulous years we’ve decided to say goodbye.  It’s been an absolute joy spending these years with you.  I walk away filled with memories, from the customer who came through the door and shouted, “oh my god, I’ve hit the mothership,” to the proud first time knitter who showed me her finished hat.  My sister Linda had a dream, Yarn Garden could teach everyone in Portland to knit.  Well, sis, we didn’t quite get there but we made one hell of a dent!  Please keep her dream alive and teach someone to knit.
Annie and I would like to thank our dedicated staff for their loyalty, patience and professionalism and Jill Carter for all her wonderful drawings and Raoul Berman who kept our software going.  They have been the heart and soul of Yarn Garden.
